2020 Nissan Altima vs 2019 Nissan Altima

Serving Hinesville, GA

Are you trying to decide whether you should head home in the 2019 Nissan Altima or the new 2020 model? Many of our valued customers at Vaden Nissan Hinesville are intrigued by the beautiful modern design of the Altima, which was introduced with the generational advancement in the 2019 model year. The revamped 2019 Altima boasts new technologies and improved capabilities, and these are also found in the 2020 model year. Nissan made a few small updates to the latest Altima version that you should know about before picking out the car that is right for you.

The Altima’s capabilities on the road are unchanged between the 2019 and 2020 model years. Several impressive powertrains are loaded into the various trims. One of these is a 4-cylinder, 2.5-liter engine that delivers 188 horsepower. Some of the top trims are equipped with 4-cylinder, variable compression turbo 2.0-liter engine. This powertrain provides up to 248 horsepower. All powertrains for the 2019 and 2020 Altima trims come with the continuously variable transmission, direct fuel injection, front-wheel or all-wheel drive, an independent front strut suspension, a rear independent multi-link suspension, power steering, and other mechanical features.

The exterior design of the Altima has been refreshed for the 2019 model year, and its styling is unchanged for the 2020 model year. The Altima is a midsize car that has a powerful hood with a rounded nose. Arrow-like LED headlights angle downward into the chrome-outlined grille. The roof rolls sharply downward to improve aerodynamics and to create a defined trunk area. While the exterior design is unchanged, some of the 2020 trims have interior changes. Specifically, the SV, SL, and Platinum trims for the new model year come with piano black accents. For both model years, you will find a flat-bottom steering wheel, a mounted infotainment display screen that is elevated out of the dashboard, and other design elements.

There are only a few feature updates that you should be aware of for the 2020 Altima. The 2020 Altima SR now has all of the driver-assist technologies as standard features, and these are optional for the 2020 S trim. Also, the 2020 Altima Platinum now extends its memory abilities to the driver’s side-view mirror. These updates are combined with many additional features that carry across both model years. Some of these are dual-zone climate control, smartphone app integration, a navigation system, USB-C ports, a digital display screen, heads-up tech, SiriusXM satellite radio, remote access via an app, and other items.

The Vaden Nissan Hinesville associates are excited by all that the Altima offers for both model years, and we are eager to demonstrate the car’s full capabilities. We invite you to drop by our dealership at your convenience during business hours to compare the trims more closely and to get on the road for an Altima test drive.
