Nissan NV200 for FedEx

The first batch of Nissan NV200 vans are going to work, thanks to a partnership between the Japanese auto maker and FedEx UK. Long before NV200 becomes NYC's "Taxi Cab of Tomorrow," or hits dealer lots, the vehicle will encounter real world situations across the globe.

After 2 months of testing, Nissan will evaluate the vehicle's responses.

But these are not your average work vans. FedEx NV's are all electric, just like Nissan Leaf.

All Electric Nissan NV200 replace the stock driveline "with the electric running gear from the Leaf. Nissan doesn't say if this application…

Future Nissan EV

Nissan plans on introducing a "Realistic EV" at the upcoming Tokyo Auto Show. The third-generation PIVO 3 EV is a tiny car that seats 3 people - one in the front, two in the rear. This city car is built to easily navigate metropolises, and hopes to contribute to 'smarter urban commuting.'

"The car has a futuristic technology called Automated Valet Parking (AVP). This will allow the PIVO 3 to automatically drive, locate a parking space and park. However, for such a technology to actually work, it will require a smart parking infrastructure to support it."1

Other key features of…

2014 Nissan Titan Announced

There will be a Nissan Titan facelift coming to Vaden Nissan of Hinesville, but it won't be released as soon as everyone thought. The official date for Titan's facelift has been pushed back until 2014. This is the time of year when auto makers typically release new or updated models. However, this year's tragic earthquake that struck Japan, as well as a tsunami which occurred after, put a stop to scheduled production.

One of these aftereffects is the delay of full-sized pickup truck redesign set for 2014. Nissan has agreed to temporarily shift Titan construction to Mexico…

Nissan Brake Override System

Nissan is renowned for their innovation. And while the LEAF might be gaining most of the fanfare these days, the company's commitment to breaking barriers and delivering the best product possible isn't new. But we do think it's newsworthy.

Proof that Nissan is an out-of-the-box technological pioneer? Three words: Brake Override Technology. A truly intuitive technology, Nissan Brake Override Technology is able to override accelerator input by reducing the engine throttle opening, when both the gas pedal and brake pedal are pushed at the same time. Designed specifically for emergency situations, it will not, however, activate if…

Supercharged Nissan Hybrid System

Auto maker Nissan is working on an advanced supercharged engine that will be mated to a hybrid power plant for the upcoming Nissan Leaf, along with other models.

This new hybrid, which will be available at Vaden Nissan in Hinesville, GA, one day, connects a supercharged 2.5 liter 4-cylinder engine with CVT transmission, electric motor, and lithium-ion battery pack.

Details on fuel economy will depend on the vehicles themselves, though Nissan "seems to have set out to build a system that is equal parts performance and fuel economy."1

Superchargers provide more baseline power than turbo chargers. There is…

Nissan Versa 1.6SV for 2012

A few years ago, an all new Nissan Versa would run you $9990, but didn't even include FM or AM radios. It also had a manual transmission. The 2012 Versa comes with all those, plus an automatic transmission, anti-lock brakes, stability control, air conditioning and destination charges,  beginning at $11,750. Versa has been given a sporty face lift. The 2012 Versa 1.6SV is an optional upgrade for those who want a little more horsepower. The 2012 Versa weighs 250 pounds less than previous years. The sport little sedan uses a 1.6-liter four-speed automatic with a continuously…

2012 Nissan Xterra Overview

With "innovation for the extreme",1 the 11-year-old Nissan Xterra is designed to take you on whatever extreme adventures you have in mind. As intelligent as it is rugged, each generation has earned a lot of respect among serious outdoor enthusiasts. We suspect the 2012 model will do the same. Everything it offers is top-of-the-line. Everything it doesn't, you wouldn't really want or need anyway.

All 2012 Nissan Xterra trims (i.e., the X, S, and PRO-4X) feature an advanced 4.0-liter DOHC V6 engine that delivers a powerful 261 hp and take-control 281 lb-ft. of torque. Of…

Nissan Leaf On Cannonball Run

A Nissan Leaf is taking part in a revival of one classic street race.

The Cannonball Run is headed overseas, and is running a combination of gasoline vehicles along with some alternative fuel alternatives.

Cannonball Run is no longer a dangerous coast-to-coast car race like it was in the 1970's. These day's, the Run is a charity event, with sponsors and the opportunity to "raise money for Barretstown Camp, which caters to children with cancer and other serious illnesses."1

The EV Leaf is sponsored by ESB Ecars in Ireland this year. ESB hope to prove its electric…

People are already saying how it feels like fall...that the leaves are starting to change and the temperatures are beginning to cool. But, let's not rush it. In an effort to make the most of summer, a season that for some always seems to pass too quickly, Nissan has launched "The Nissan Keep the Summer Rolling Service Sweepstakes."

A truly unique offer, "The Nissan Keep the Summer Rolling Sweepstakes" is available exclusively to current Nissan owners. This alone raises the odds of winning. To enhance entrants' chances even more, Nissan is offering 100 weekly prizes and 350 instant…

Nissan Zero-Emission Society

Think Nissan's green initiatives start and end with the LEAF? Think again. The Japanese automaker's main prerogative is to develop a zero-emission global community of cars. In short: The LEAF is just the first in a long line of products and technologies to come.

In understanding that the concepts of a zero-emission society might seem a little abstract and incomprehensible to many  drivers, Nissan has developed  a new, interactive website that allows visitors to virtually experience a cleaner, greener world. The site is called "The Planet Zero". While it is still under construction, visitors can run over ice…
