Nissan Brake Override System

Nissan is renowned for their innovation. And while the LEAF might be gaining most of the fanfare these days, the company's commitment to breaking barriers and delivering the best product possible isn't new. But we do think it's newsworthy.
Proof that Nissan is an out-of-the-box technological pioneer? Three words: Brake Override Technology. A truly intuitive technology, Nissan Brake Override Technology is able to override accelerator input by reducing the engine throttle opening, when both the gas pedal and brake pedal are pushed at the same time. Designed specifically for emergency situations, it will not, however, activate if a driver is purposefully using both the brake and accelerator to gain traction on slippery surfaces, at low speeds.
We don't know about you, but we think that's pretty smart. So does the federal government, which is contemplating making the technology mandatory on all vehicles, industry-wide. But, of course Nissan is way ahead of the game. They started adding the Brake Override Technology to all new Nissan vehicles six years ago.
Brake Override Technology represents just one of Nissan's notable advancements.
